Terms of use

A guide, offered as is.

Using this site means you accept these terms. They are short because the site is simple: it explains what a registered agent is and how the requirement works, and nothing more.

Last updated October 25, 2026. Registered Agents is the publisher of this site.

The basics

Registered Agents publishes general information about registered agents and the state rules that require them. We do not act as anyone's registered agent, we do not file documents with any state, and we do not sell or recommend any provider. Nothing on the site is legal, tax or financial advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client or any other professional relationship.

Accuracy

We try to keep the guide correct, but statutes are amended, agencies change their forms and fees, and a general description cannot cover every case. Confirm the current requirement with the state agency that handles business filings, or with a professional who knows your situation, before you act on anything here. The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss that comes from relying on it.

Using the content

You may read, link to and quote the guide for your own use, with a credit to Registered Agents and a link to the page. You may not copy the site or substantial parts of it to another site or product, remove the credit, or present the material as your own. The name Registered Agents, the shield-and-pin mark and the layout of the site belong to the publisher.

Automated access

Automated tools may read the public pages, and the site publishes a sitemap and a plain-text summary for that purpose. The same credit rule applies: cite the page you drew from. Do not harvest the contact form, send it automated messages, or use the site in a way that interferes with its operation.

The contact form

Messages sent through the contact form are handled as described in the privacy policy. Do not send confidential information through it; it is a question box, not a secure channel, and we have no duty to keep what you send confidential beyond what the privacy policy says.

Links

Where the site links to a state agency or another outside site, that site has its own terms and we are not responsible for it.

Changes

We may change these terms by posting a new version here with a new date. Your continued use after the change means you accept the new version.
